What does "cold-centrifuged" mean and why does it matter? +
Cold-centrifuging separates oil from fresh coconut milk using only spinning force at 30°C — no heat, no chemicals, no drying. This preserves the volatile aromatic compounds that give true coconut oil its fresh-coconut smell. Standard cold-pressed oils start from copra (dried coconut) which already loses most aromatic compounds during drying.

How do you guarantee purity — what does the lab test cover? +
"Each batch is lab-tested for lauric acid (above 50%), free fatty acids, moisture and peroxide value, and screened for adulteration. It's bottled in food-grade glass at our FSSAI-certified Thrissur facility, and the QR code on every bottle links to that batch's lab report — traceable to the harvest date and farm."
Can I cook with this VCO? +
Yes · but it's more expensive than oils designed for cooking. Smoke point ~175°C · safe for sautéing, dressings, low-medium heat. For daily high-heat cooking we recommend our Cold Pressed Coconut Oil at less than half the price.
Is this safe for babies? +
VCO Organic Premium has full safety credentials for adult wellness use. For newborn skincare, please use our dedicated Baby VCO which carries the additional IS 16077 infant-grade certification — same Kolazhy origin · stricter testing panel.
Why is the oil solid below 24°C? +
Coconut oil solidifies below 24°C · this is normal and a sign of purity. To liquefy, place the bottle in warm water for a few minutes. Solidification doesn't affect quality or efficacy.
How long does it last after opening? +
12 months unopened · 6 months opened when stored in a cool, dark place. No refrigeration required. Glass bottle protects against light degradation.
