Black Sesame Seed Oil 1L
Naturish Elite Sesame Oil is a 100% pure, cold-pressed oil extracted from the finest organically grown sesame seeds to retain its natural nutrients, aroma, and flavor. Our traditional extraction process ensures that you get unrefined, chemical-free, and preservative-free sesame oil with all its natural goodness intact.
Til Taila — Ayurveda's royal oil — now for your kitchen & body.
A single bottle of pure Karuppu Ellu replaces three: your tempering oil, your salad finisher, and your Til Taila for abhyanga. Stone-milled in our wooden marachekku the way Tamil grandmothers have done it for 5,000 years — slow, cold, unhurried.
From tempering pan to massage palm.
In Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the same Karuppu Ellu that goes into the tadka also goes onto the body. Black sesame oil — Til Taila in Sanskrit, Nallennai in Tamil — has powered both rituals for 5,000 years. We've kept that tradition alive, and added the lab tests to prove it..
Cooking — high heat, deep flavour
Smoke point of ~210°C means you can temper, sauté, and shallow-fry without breakdown. The gently-roasted Karuppu Ellu seeds deliver a depth of earthy, robust flavour that refined white-sesame oils simply can't match
- Tempering (mustard, curry leaves, dal)
- Chettinad, Andhra & Kerala curries
- Dosa, idli, chutneys
- Salad finisher (drizzle, don't heat)
Abhyanga — Ayurveda's daily ritual
In Ayurveda, sesame is the king of oils for self-massage. Its molecular size lets it penetrate deeply into skin and joints. We test ours for cosmetic-grade purity so you can rub it on a baby — and on yourself.
- Full-body Abhyanga (warm, then massage)
- Scalp oil — applied 1 hour before wash
- Joint massage (knees, lower back, shoulders)
- Oil pulling (kavala) — 5 minutes, morning

How our black sesame oil reaches you.
Hand-selected Karuppu Ellu
Only 100% pure black sesame seeds (Til Kala / Karuppu Ellu) — the rarest and most medicinal variety. Hand-cleaned, no mixing with cheaper white sesame.
Gently roasted at low heat
Small-batch roasted to activate the natural earthy aroma without destroying antioxidants. Black sesame already has its colour — we never over-roast.
Stone-milled in marachekku
Slow-pressed in a traditional wooden marachekku at below 40°C. The slow grind preserves sesamin and sesamolin — the antioxidants that make black sesame Ayurveda's royal oil.
Settled & -bottled
Naturally settled for 7 days, then bottled at our FSSAI-certified facility in Thrissur. Edible-grade and cosmetic-grade certified. QR code on every bottle → batch lab report.
Cold-pressed marachekku vs. the supermarket bottle
Most supermarket sesame oils are blends — refined sesame mixed with cheaper oils. Here is the difference.
Every batch · independently tested.
Why black beats white sesame.
Black sesame's signature antioxidants — found in higher concentration than white sesame. Studied for liver protection, cholesterol balance, and anti-aging. [Replace placeholder with your lab value]
Monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid) — same heart-friendly fat as olive oil. Supports good HDL cholesterol. [Replace with your lab MUFA value]
Omega-6 and Omega-3 essential fatty acids. Anti-inflammatory support for joints, skin, and brain. [Replace with your lab PUFA value]
Zero refining, zero bleaching, zero chemicals. Cold-pressed only. The same way Ayurvedic vaidyas have prepared Til Taila for millennia.

The oil Ayurveda calls"the king" — Til Taila — from our wooden marachekku.
Black sesame oil — Til Taila in Sanskrit, Nallennai in Tamil — has been a staple of Indian kitchens and Ayurveda for over 5,000 years. At our Thrissur facility, we still press it the way grandmothers did: in a wooden marachekku at under 40°C. Slow. Cold. Unhurried.
India's wellness-conscious homes swear by Til Taila.
Recipes & rituals to start with
Black sesame · no hedge.
Why is your oil dark brown — is it burnt? +
No. This is the natural colour of 100% pure black sesame oil (Karuppu Ellu). When black sesame seeds are gently roasted and cold-pressed, the oil takes on a deep amber-brown shade. Refined supermarket sesame oil is artificially lightened. Ours is unrefined and unfiltered — the colour you see is the colour of authenticity.
What's the difference between black sesame and white sesame oil? +
Black sesame (Karuppu Ellu / Til Kala) is the older, more medicinal variety. It has higher sesamin content, more antioxidants, and stronger anti-aging compounds than white sesame. Ayurveda specifically recommends black sesame oil (Til Taila) for daily abhyanga, hair care, and bone health. White sesame is more for general cooking.
Can I really use the same bottle for cooking and body massage? +
Yes. Our black sesame oil is dual-grade certified — FSSAI for edible use and cosmetic-grade for topical use. This is the traditional Tamil and Ayurvedic practice — same Nallennai in the kadai and on the head.
What is the smoke point and is it suitable for deep frying? +
Smoke point is approximately 210°C. Excellent for tempering, sautéing, dosa, and shallow frying. For deep frying at very high heat (above 220°C), a refined oil is better suited.
How do I perform Ayurvedic abhyanga at home with black sesame oil? +
See our full Abhyanga Ritual Guide. In short: warm 4–6 tablespoons of Til Taila, apply head-to-toe with circular motions on joints and long strokes on limbs. Let absorb for 5–10 minutes. Bathe with warm water. Best done in the morning before bathing.
Is black sesame oil good for hair growth and greying? +
In Ayurveda, black sesame oil is the traditional remedy for premature greying and hair strength. Apply 1–2 hours before wash, massage gently into scalp. The high sesamin and iron content nourishes hair follicles. Best results when used consistently for 2–3 months.
How long does the oil stay fresh once opened? +
6 months at room temperature in dark glass, away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration extends to 12 months but may cause natural cloudiness — let it warm to room temperature before use. Black sesame oil is more shelf-stable than white due to its higher antioxidant content.
Is this safe for babies, children, and pregnant women? +
Yes for topical use (massage). For internal use during pregnancy, consult your healthcare provider. Black sesame oil is traditionally used in balasana abhyanga (baby massage) — do a patch test first for infants under 6 months.
How do I read the QR code for batch lab reports? +
Every bottle has a QR code on the back label. Scan with any smartphone camera — it opens a web page showing that batch's full lab test results: sesamin content, free fatty acids, moisture, peroxide value.
